Intelligent and docile, it is easy to train and gets along well with children and other animals. Its love of water makes it an excellent companion for water activities.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p><\/div><\/div><div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-7387b849 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\"><div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\"><h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Origin and history<\/h5>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Barbet is an ancient French breed, mentioned as early as the 14th century. Originally used as a hunting dog for waterfowl, it is known for its swimming skills and ability to retrieve game from the marshes. Its name derives from the French word &#8220;barbe&#8221;, in reference to its characteristic beard. After nearly extinction in the 20th century, the breed was revitalized by enthusiasts.   <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p><\/div><\/div><div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-7387b849 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\"><div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\"><h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Maintenance<\/h5>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It requires regular brushing to prevent knots. A scissor cut is recommended every two to three months to maintain a hair length of between 5 and 7 cm. Particular attention should be paid to the hygiene of its ears to prevent infections. It is important to offer it sufficient exercise and mental stimulation to ensure its well-being.   <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p><\/div><\/div><h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Health<\/h5><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He may be prone to hip dysplasia, epilepsy.
